My roots trace back to small business. It's my upbringing. It's in my blood.

I grew up in a family supported by my father's small home repair business. I saw first-hand the grit, and the grind, of entrepreneurship from a very young age.Our small family business is where my work ethic and love for business came from. My parents ingrained in me the belief that nothing worth having comes easy, and you must be willing to roll up your sleeves and work for it.When talking about my father's business and how I grew up, I always recall my first experience of going to work with him. I was about 9 or 10 years old and desperately wanted a new bike. Instead of my parents buying me one, my dad proposed an alternative. The work truck, he said, departs at 8am every Saturday - if I wanted that bike, I had to earn it.On my first day of work with him, I crawled on my belly under a mobile home all day, fetching tools for my dad as he fixed a plumbing leak. This was the beginning of my working life.Since then, I have worked my way through school, finished an MBA program, and spent the last 10+ years working in the corporate world. Now that I am about the same age as my dad when he started his business and have a young family of my own, I can't help but be pulled to small business ownership. My wife and I have a dream of purchasing a business here in the heart of Central Oregon. We aspire to run and build a business that serves our employees, the community, and our family for the long run.Even if selling your business is far from your mind, I would still love the opportunity to connect over beer or coffee to learn more about you and the business you've built. It never hurts to meet a new friend, hope our paths cross soon.Cheers,Alex
